Deborah Ewing, representing public elementary school teachers, is a fifth grade teacher at McComb Elementary School in McComb, Ohio.
Ewing teaches Social Studies, Mathematics, and Reading, as well as technology workshops for youth
and adults; has served on various local school committees, currently serving on local technology
committee; served as Secretary and President of Phi Delta Kaplan; secretary of McComb Teachers
Association (MTEA) 4 years; local representative to the OEA Rep Assembly; currently serves on
negotiations and insurance committees, as well as the Local Professional Development Committee.
Ewing has been active in her local community serving on McComb Village Council 6 years and as Village Clerk-Treasurer 3 years;
secretary McComb Friends of the Library 2 years; McComb is representative to PMP Ambulance Board; elder McComb First
Presbyterian; historian and past president of McComb Rotary Club.
In addition, Ewing is National Board Certified as a Middle Childhood Generalist. She was a facilitator
at the NBCT Summit in November 2006; Table Leader for Ohio Social Studies Achievement Test (OAT)
Performance cut scores 2006; member of OAA Reading Rangefinding Committee 2009, 2010; participated in
Ohio Social Studies Revision Discussion Groups 2009; past presenter at Ohio Schoolnet Conventions;
past presenter at Northwest Ohio Educational Technology (NWOET) workshops. She was honored as Hancock
County Findlay Chamber of Commerce Distinguished Teacher in 1997.

Ewing holds a bachelor's degree from the University of Findlay and a Master's Degree from the
University of Dayton. She completed 51 hours beyond the Master program and holds endorsements in
Technology (K-12) and in Reading (1-12).
