Jim Andrews Dr. Matt Lutz, current Principal of Walnut Springs Middle School, joined the Westerville City School District as a Social Studies teacher in 2001. Previously, he taught in North Carolina and Florida.

Lutz obtained his B.A. in History in 1993 and M.A. in Education in 1998 from Duquesne University. He received an Ed.D in Educational Leadership from Ashland University in 2007. He is a current a member of the Ohio Association of Secondary School Principals (OASSA) serving on the Board as the Middle School Representative at Large. Lutz has presented at the National and State Battelle for Kids Conference, OMSA, OAGC and the OASSA conferences, with a focus on using data to guide instruction and scheduling. He is a graduate of the Leadership Westerville program and the Franklin County Leadership program.
