STANDARDS ADOPTED

On October 11, 2005, the State Board of Education adopted by resolution the standards and elements for The Ohio Standards for the Teaching Profession, The Ohio Standards for Principals, and The Ohio Standards for Professional Development.

The indicators for the teacher, principal and professional development standards are tools that use developmental skills and knowledge to inform understanding of the standards and elements.

Also included here to help understand the standards are a preamble provided by the Educator Standards Board and a glossary of relevant terms. Full implementation is not expected until 2007-2008.
